Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of house robbery after an elderly woman was confronted by four suspects in her home in a complex in Brymore.
A case of house robbery is currently under investigation by the Mount Road Trio Task team after an 84-year-old woman was robbed at her home in a complex in Brymore.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said that the incident happened at approximately 02:30 on Friday morning.
"The suspects were armed with knives and a screwdriver. They tied her up and demanded jewellery and firearms," she said.
Janse Van Rensburg said that the house was ransacked and the robbers fled with jewellery, a cell phone, and cutlery. "It is not clear how entrance was gained because there were no signs of forced entry. After the suspects fled she managed to untie herself and press the panic button, which alerted the body corporate," she added.
The woman was not seriously injured during the incident.
