Elderly man knocked down and killed by hearse

Butterworth police have opened a culpable homicide docket after an elderly man was knocked down and killed by a hearse.

Police spokesperson, captain Jackson Manatha, says the hearse was taking a body to a funeral when the accident happened on Saturday.

He says the incident happened on the N-2 near Thanga junction.

Manatha says the elderly man was crossing the road when he was hit by the hearse.
