Elderly man killed after suffering heart attack behind the wheel

A head on collision at Dana Bay in the Southern Cape has left one man dead and two women injured.

Seventy-two-year old Cornelius Nothnagel was declared dead at the scene of Sunday's accident.He apparently suffered a heart attack, moments before the accident.According to police, Nothnagel was driving in Flora Road towards Mossel Bay when his Nissan crashed head on into a Toyota.

Police say Nothnagel complained to his wife about chest pains seconds before the accident.

A third vehicle which was parked on the side of Flora Road was also hit by Nothnagel's vehicle.

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free all trapped passengers.
