Police in the Eastern Cape are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 65-year-old man was found in a farmhouse on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says police were summoned to a crime scene at a house along the R390 between Hofmeyr and Nxuba (formerly Cradock) at 9.30 am.
He says upon arrival they found the deceased with stab wounds to his upper body.
WO Nkohli says his identity is being withheld until he is formally identified by his next of kin.
He says the victim's bakkie was later found abandoned on Conway Road in Hofmeyr.
Police say the circumstances surrounding the murder is unknown at this stage and urged anybody with information to please come forward.
