Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder and house robbery after the body of an 85-year-old man was found at the Duncan Ferguson Old Age Home in Summerstrand.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer, Alwin Labans, said the man's domestic worker became suspicious and called for help when he did not respond to her knocking on Wednesday morning.
He says the caretaker was called and when he opened the door to the unit the man was found tied to his bed.
Labans says the house had been completely ransacked.
An autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause of death.
