Police in Kabega Park in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 71-year-old man died at the scene of an accident on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the accident, involving a Mazda bakkie and Opel Meriva, happened just before 10 am in Bramlin Street.
She says the Meriva was stationary when the bakkie collided into it, pushing it forward.
Janse van Rensburg says, as a result, both vehicles ended up on its side.
The elderly driver in the bakkie passed away at the scene.
She says at this stage the man's cause of death is not known and a post mortem will be conducted.
His name cannot yet be released as his next of kin have not yet been informed of his death.
