An 80-year-old man from Great Brak River was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
A Police spokesperson said that the incident happened in front of an ice cream stall at the Point in Mossel Bay.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was sitting in his car with the victim when he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The suspect then bought the victim an ice-cream.
The spokesperson said the owner of another stall allegedly saw what had happened and phoned the police.
The suspect is being kept in police holding cells and will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's court on Friday on a charge of sexual assault.
