A 74-year-old man from Willovale in the Transkei, has been arrested for the rape of an 11-year-old child.
Police say the suspect allegedly called the unsuspecting girl to his home yesterday afternoon, and raped her.
She then returned to play with her friends, but members of the community alerted her mother that something was amiss.
The little girl later broke her silence about the abuse, and police were alerted.
The old man is spending the weekend in custody and will appear in court on Monday.
