Elderly man arrested for stabbing 13-year old girl

A 70 year old Oudtshoorn man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 13-year-old girl.
Police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, says the incident happened on Saturday night when the girl was leaving a game centre in Bridgton, to go home.
She says the man stabbed the girl several times.
"As she was leaving the suspect took hold of her and allegedly stabbed her with a knife. She sustained an open wound in her chest, shoulder, back and neck. Two girls who were passing by assisted the victim after which she was able to flee the scene. Shortly after the incident the suspect was arrested. He will appear in court on Monday" she said.
