An elderly Great Brak River man has died in hospital, nearly two weeks after being brutally attacked on his smallholding allegedly with a pick axe handle.
Colin Bone, who was in his seventies, was found by a neighbor in critical condition in his home a day after the attack on Sunday, 17, September.
His three Jack Russels reportedly kept watch over him.

Bone's white Opel Astra and his cell phone were stolen and a 29-year-old man was arrested shortly afterward in Villiersdorp where the vehicle was also found.
The suspect briefly appeared in the Great Brak River Magistrates Court on a charge of house robbery and attempted murder.
However, he is due back in court again on 2 October where the charge is likely to be changed to one of murder.
