Elderly EC woman arrested for murder

A 70-year-old Eastern Cape woman has been arrested on a charge of murder.

Its alleged that she had wrestled a knife away from a 48-year-old woman, suspected to be a loan shark, and stabbed her in the chest.

A police spokesperson says its alleged that the deceased went to collect her money from the suspect's residence on Sunday when they had an argument.

The elderly woman from Mooiplaas will appear in the East London magistrate's court on Tuesday.
