Cofinvaba police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 96 year old woman was found in her home in Bolotwa village near the town.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Namhla Mdleleni, says suspicious neighbours found her door open on Monday morning and went to investigate.
She says a post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
No arrests have yet been made.
Cofinvaba cluster commander, colonel Sandile Ngovela, has called on the public for any information that will lead to the arrest of the attackers.
