A 36 year old Despatch man is expected to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrates' Court again on Wednesday in connection with a rape case in which the victim allegedly met her assailant on MXIT.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu, issued a statement earlier about the rape on the 13th of June, saying a teenage girl met a man at a filling station in Forest Hill, after they started chatting on MXIT.
They allegedly drove to Despatch, where she says she was raped.
Naidu subsequently said that a suspect was arrested on the 2nd of August and his case has been remanded to Wednesday

He remains in custody.
