Police in Jeffrey's Bay are investigating a case of house robbery after five men stormed into a farmhouse and attacked an elderly couple on Wednesday night.
Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says it is alleged that one of the men was armed with a firearm, whilst the others had unknown weapons on them.
They gained entry to the house in the Smithtown area through a sliding door.
He says the couple, aged 71 and 66, were held at gunpoint, before being tied with cables.
The suspects then opened the safe and stole an Astra 38 special revolver with 80 rounds of ammunition, a 9 mm Star pistol with 30 rounds of ammunition as well as a shotgun with 15 rounds of ammunition.
Nkohli says after the robbery the couple managed to free themselves and called their neighbours for assistance.
Any person with information is urged to contact police.
No arrests have been made.
