A Woman from East London made a brief appearance in the magistrate's court on Friday following her arrest for alleged theft amounting to R4 million.
The 51-year-old Anastasia Mariana Parkin was arrested by the Hawks in East London.
Spokesperson Captain Anelisa Feni says it is alleged that between the years 2010 and 2019 Parkin was employed as a Finance Manager at an international healthcare training organisation.
It is further alleged that during her tenure within the organisation she misappropriated R4 million rand.
Feni says she allegedly accessed the organisation's bank account and made irregular payments by means of cheques and electronic funds transfers into her own bank account.
She was granted bail of R1 000 and will be back in court on the 10th of May.
