EL teen killed in hit-and-run

East London police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after a 13-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Captain Mluleki Mbi says the boy was cycling on Voortreker Road in Highgate, when he was hit by a vehicle.

He died at the scene.

Mbi says the driver was allegedly travelling from Mdantsane to East London.

He says the driver didn't stop at the scene, but reported the accident at the local police station.

No arrests have yet been made.
