EL’s Vincent Park Shopping Centre to get major facelift

Vincent Park Shopping Centre in East London has announced a multi-million rand upgrade that it said would “not only significantly enhance existing facilities but also pave the way for a wave of new tenants”.

In a statement, Centre Management said that the multi-million rand revamp will grow the Centre’s gross letting area by an additional 3 000m² and create over 300 new jobs, of which at least 120 are permanent or long-term employment opportunities.

“Phase 1, which includes the reconfiguration of one of our anchor tenants, Pick n Pay, is already underway and will be incrementally finalised and unveiled over the next eight to 10 months.  All work is due to be completed by August 2018.”

The Vincent Park banking wing is being further expanded, thanks to significant growth by ABSA with Clicks also expanding its retail space, while the mall’s common and restrooms are being enhanced and modernised.

“New tenants who are taking up retail space in the mall as a result of the new developments include Cupidolls, Capitec, Pick and Pay Clothing and Mr Price Sport.”

“An exciting international brand has also committed to trading in the new-look Centre, and will be the biggest new tenant, with 44 confirmed permanent positions.”

“We are very excited to roll out these new developments as part of Vincent Park’s ongoing commitment to offering visitors and retailers alike a superior mall experience,” Centre Manager Joseph Parsley said.
