East London police have arrested six suspects for the illegal possession of drugs, a stolen vehicle and suspected stolen goods.
Spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku says police members stopped a suspicious vehicle in Needs-camp informal settlement, and conducted a search during which eight mandrax tablets and tik were found.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene.
Mzuku says during a stop and search operation in Buffalo Flats , a suspect was arrested for being in possession of thirty-five mandrax tablets in Parkside, and in Scenery Park, police recovered a stolen Toyota Tazz and arrested one person.
A laptop computer was recovered in Nompumelelo, Beacon Bay, and two suspects were arrested for burglary and possession of suspected stolen property.
The six suspects, aged between 19 and 43, will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court soon.
