EL man brutally murdered in his upmarket townhouse

East London police have issued a brief statement on the investigation into the murder of local resident, Steve Audie.

Although Audie is not named in the police's text message, he was identified in a report in the Daily Dispatch on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mtati Tana, confirmed that police are investigating a case of murder after a man of about 60 years old was found with a wound on the head at Riverside Estate on Friday.

He said a vehicle, cellphone and money was stolen.

No arrests have been made.
