The Eastern Departments of Education and Arts and Culture are hosting a learner's creative arts exhibition at the Guild Theatre in East London from Wednesday.
The festival sees schools from different districts in the province taking part in a display of visual and performing arts, which are part of the Life Skills subject.
Education Department's Unathi Nqandela, says these core curricular activities enhance teaching and learning.
She says the exhibition gives learners who are more artistic a chance to shine in a less academic set up.
"We want to recognise that some of our learners will be actresses and poets and artists. If we do not nurture these talents at these stages of their lives we will be doing them a great injustice" she said
