An eight member task team attached to the Cambridge police in East London have made a major breakthrough.
They arrested 11 wanted suspects this weekend and recovered suspected stolen goods, including cars, worth more than R300 000.
Police spokesperson, captain Steven Marais, says among the suspects arrested was a man nicknamed "Cambridge", who was wanted for crimes committed in Duncan Village including a murder.
He says "Cambridge" is also wanted in Duncan Village for armed robberies at foreign spaza shops in and around Duncan Village.
"The three suspects arrested in Cambridge on Saturday were also wanted for a house breaking case which took place during last week at Frame Park in East London where over R200 000-00 worth of music instruments were stolen," he added.
"On Saturday police managed to recover some of the property amounting to an estimated R100 000-00," Marais said.
