The East London Magistrate court has released 40-year-old assault suspect Ncediswa Mkhencele on warning, for the second time on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Captain Mluleki Mbi told Algoa FM news that the Duncan Village nurse was arrested in March, after she allegedly assaulted 84-year-old Hope Sheperd at the Berea Gardens Retirement Foundation where she was an employee.
Mbi says Mkhencele's first court appearance was on the 24th of March and he was released on warning.
The Foundation's Executive Director Michael Schulze says they have the footage of the incident that allegedly took place on 3rd and 23rd of February.
Schultze added that Mkhencele was not fired, but when she was confronted about the incidence, she resigned immediately.
Further investigations are being done by the police and the suspect will appear again in court on the 5th of June.
