Efforts to diffuse the tension in Kwanobuhle in Uitenhage

Police in Kwanobuhle, Uitenhage will meet ward councillors and stakeholders in the area, following this week's looting of several foreign owned spaza shops.

The meeting will be at the Kwanobuhle police station at 10am and all ward councillors in the area are expected to attend.
The meeting follows the looting of shops owned by foreign national notably Somalis and rumours that other foreign nationals may also be targeted.

Algoa FM News spoke to constable Majola Nkohli of the Kwanobuhle community policing forum about their concerns.

"We are very concerned as the Kwanobuhle SAPS and we intend to discuss strategies that could be utilised in terms of addressing the community to ask them to not partake in these activities"
