The Department of Basic Education will appoint a task team on Monday to deal with vacant teaching posts and the payment of temporary teachers in the Eastern Cape.
The Department reached an out of court settlement with the Centre for Child Law last week on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Cape Education Department has confirmed that acting superintendent general Mthunywa Ngonzo has been appointed to the post full time.
Ngonzo said labour stability was necessary to create an environment conducive to learning.
