Officials from the Mbhashe local Municipality have expressed their concern over what they call spontaneous house fires that are destroying several homes in the area.
Spokesperson Kolwane Ncebakazi says since last month's fire at a house in Willowvale where seven people died, more mysterious fires broke out in several homes in different wards.
He says none of the homes had any electrical appliances or any other materials that could spark a fire.
Ncebakazi says on the 27th of July a mysterious fire broke out at a woman's house in Nqabane, which was successfully extinguished by members of the community.
However, on the very next day, a fire broke out in the house where she sought refuge the day before.
He says whilst they were trying to stub the fire in that house another room in her own house, which burned the day before, caught fire again.
Both homes took turns in burning and eventually burnt to the ground.
The woman has now lost all her belongings.
On the 25th of July, another mysterious fire broke out at a house in Willowvale killing a 56-year-old mother her 28-year-old daughter and five younger siblings between the ages of 3 and 14, including a set of twins.
