Police in Centane in the Eastern Cape are investigating the murder of a 63-year-old woman whose body was found by a neighbour on Friday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says its believed that the murder had been committed on Thursday night in her homestead in a village near the town.
The woman, who was not identified, sustained wounds from a sharp object to her upper body.
Manatha said she lived alone as her children work outside of the province.
The motive for her murder is not yet known and no arrests have been made.
