A 21-year-old man was arrested by a 41-year-old woman after he allegedly raped her in Ngqeleni on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Captain Dineo Koena says the victim was out jogging at about 6 am when the suspect approached her.
She says it is alleged that he dragged her to the nearby dongas where he threatened to kill her before raping her.
Captain Koena says after the rape she managed to overpower him and called her brothers for help.
The suspect was apprehended and handed over to police.
He will appear in court on Monday.
The District Commissioner of Police Major General David Kanuka applauded the woman for her bravery and said bail will be opposed.
