Eastern Cape universities will hold marches against gender-based violence on Tuesday.
Staff and students from Rhodes University, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Fort Hare and Walter Sisulu Universities, will hold marches in four centres at around noon.
In a joint statement, the Vice-Chancellorates, say they are united in the view that communities need to reject gender-based, interpersonal violence.
They add that the academy is tasked with leading by example and encouraging the communities in which they exist to take a stand against violence against women.
The co-ordinated marches follow the highly successful Silent Protests held by Rhodes, the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and the University of the Witwatersrand in April.
