Police in Komani are investigating a case of murder of the body of a toddler was found in an open field on Monday morning.
Spokesperson Captain Namha Mdleleni says the 3-year-old child was last seen on Sunday afternoon near the Nkwanca Squatter Xamp in Mlungisi.
According to his family, he went to the local Spaza shop to buy sweets for himself but never returned.
Mdleleni says the child was brutally murdered and sustained head injuries.
No arrested have been made and the community is urged to come forward with any information.
