The Eastern Cape is to get a deputy judge president, the presidency announced on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Mac Maharaj says President Jacob Zuma has determined that the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court shall have a deputy judge president, whose headquarters shall be Bhisho.
The post would strengthen judicial governance in the province, and promote effective co-ordination of judicial functions in the
division.
"This measure is necessary to support the process of the rationalisation of the high courts in the province," the presidency said.
