A 24 year old school teacher has been arrested by Dutywa Police for the alleged rape of an 11 year old learner.
Police captain Jackson Manatha says the suspect was arrested on Tuesday at his house.
Its alleged that the suspect contacted the victim telepathically last Friday evening and asked her to bring money he gave her at school to his flat at Bethane Location in Dutywa.
The suspect is the class teacher of the victim.
Manatha says that once the learner arrived at the flat, the suspect dragged the victim to nearby dongas where he allegedly raped her.
The victim was allowed to go home and broke her silence to family members who decided to open the case of rape against the teacher.
The suspect will appear in the Dutywa magistrate court on Wednesday on a charge of rape.
