Police in Alexandria in the Eastern Cape are seeking the public's assistance in solving the murder of a man in Alexandria on Wednesday evening.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, said 61-year-old Lungile Qandana, a double amputee, was shot several times in his home on Strelitzia Street in Wentzel Park.
He said three men entered the house at around 22:30 while Qandana was lying in bed and his son and two were friends were chatting in the lounge.
“The occupants in the lounge were held at gunpoint, while the other suspect proceeded to the bedroom, where the elderly man was sleeping. It is further alleged that three gunshots were heard, and the three suspects fled the scene on foot,” he said.
Qandana sustained three gunshot wounds in the upper body and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
