A Port St Johns Sangoma has been jailed for life for raping two teenage girls in 2009.
The National Prosecuting Authority says 40-year-old Makhehle Dumba was sentenced in the Mthatha Regional Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that Dumba had raped the 14 and 15 year old girls on two separate occasions, when they were sent to him for treatment by their parents.
NPA spokesperson, Luxolo Tyali, says the sentence will go a long way in showing rapists that the courts will not tolerate their actions towards women and children no matter what position hold in society.
