Temperatures in many parts of the Eastern Cape remained below zero on Wednesday night.
The PE branch of the SA Weather Service says temperatures in areas like Aliwal North, Somerset East, Barkley East, Jamestown and Cradock, ranged between minus 2.5 and minus nine degrees.
Port Elizabeth, at 1.4 degrees was the coldest night this year, while Uitenhage came in at zero point five degrees, East London 4.1 and George four degrees.
