Eastern Cape premier, Noxolo Kiviet, will join over 300 people in Bhisho tomorrow to commemorate the United Nations endorsed International Anti-Corruption Day.
Most of those attending the event will be provincial civil servants, NGO's, members of the public and business community.
Provincial government spokesperson, Manelisi Wolela, says the global Anti-Corruption Day is a tool to raise awareness about corruption in different communities.
He says presentations will be made by the Special Investigating Unit, State Security Agency, Auditor General and the Public Protector.
Meanwhile, the Black Sash advocacy groups is calling on government to set up an independent, anti-corruption agency, that will deal more decisively with the scourge.
Speaking ahead of the Anti-Corruption Forum Summit which opens today, the Sash says corruption is threatening to reverse many of the gains already made by government.
Spokesperson, Nkosikhulule Nyembezi says he hopes that by the end of the summit there will be a firm committment by all role-players particularly government and business to root out corruption.
