An Eastern Cape policeman has been arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate for allegedly killing three people in Centane.
IPID spokesperson, Ndileka Cola, said the incident occurred last Wednesday when the Warrant Officer went to confront a pastor over a piece of church land that he was utilising.
She said the church had started building a hall on the same piece of land.
Cola said the policeman allegedly shot and killed the pastor, another church member, and wounded a third person.
She said he then went to the home of the headman from whom he got the church land, and fatally wounded him.
Cola said the policeman, who was stationed at the Mthatha VIP Protection Unit, would appear in court in Centane on Monday where the state would oppose any bail application.
