EC police stations back in operation

SAPS


Eastern Cape police said that several police stations that were closed due to Covid19 are back in operation.

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga, on Friday that Port Alfred, Nemato, Cathcart, Glen Grey, Lady Frere, Sterkstroom, Molteno, Queenstown and Cradock that these police stations were now open.

The stations were temporarily closed following incidents relating to members testing positive of the COVID-19.

“All health protocols have since been followed and affected members were quarantined and isolated accordingly. All these processes were done through the advice and guidance of the Department of Health officials,” she said.

General Ntshinga thanked the communities for their patience and also thanked the SAPS members and employees for their commitment during these challenging times.
