Public Order police have arrested a 35-year-old man and seized thousands of Mandrax tablets in a raid on a house in Kwanobuhle in Uitenhage.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that the arrest was made on Thursday following an “intelligence-driven” operation at a house in Phuku Street.
“A substantial amount of cash and 593 mandrax tablets were found in the suspect’s room while 12 000 mandrax tablets were found in a locked shack at the back of the house.”
“The total street value of the drugs is R755 580,” she said.
Naidu said that the suspect was detained on a charge of dealing in drugs and will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrates’ court on Monday.
