Two suspects are expected to appear in the King William’s Town magistrate’s court on Wednesday for being possession of dagga with the street vale of almost R19,000.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa said police received information about a house in the Juliwe area of Ginsberg where dagga was allegedly being stored.
Mawisa said police found several bags containing dagga and arrested a 35-year-old man and 35-year-old woman at the premises on Monday night.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in the same area, police arrested two suspects for dealing in dagga on Tuesday.
Mawisa said a male suspect tried to run away but was later apprehended.
Upon searching the house in Ginsberg police arrested a 35-year old woman and also confiscated several envelopes and plastic bags containing dagga.
Both suspects will appear in court on Tuesday.
The station commander of King William’s Town, Colonel Andile Lamana, commended the members for following the information which led to the arrest of the suspects.
“This is a major breakthrough as the drugs lead to more serious cases in our policing precinct,” he said.
