Eastern Cape police have arrested a wanted suspect in Komani following the disappearance and murder of three people in Tsomo in November last year.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana says the three people went missing under mysterious circumstances, and without a trace at the time.
He says a 71-year-old grandmother and two girls, aged 17 and 16, one of whom was 9 months pregnant, were last seen in their home.
The family was later found floating in the Tsomo River by a shepherd and the motor vehicle, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, was also found abandoned at Mahlubini Administrative Area.
Kinana says a 35-year old suspect was arrested on Friday in the Ezibeleni Township at Komani.
The motive for the killings is still under investigation.
The man is expected to appear in the Tsomo Magistrate's Court on Monday on murder charges.
