Uitenhage-based Theresa Prince, who is a highly-regarded international Netball umpire, was involved in a freak accident on Tuesday.
While swimming in the surf at Jeffreysbay, where she is on holiday with her family, she was struck in the face by someone with a knee.
Her husband Deon took her to the clinic in Jeffreysbay and she was then referred to Greenacres Hospital where scans revealed that her cheekbone and nose had been broken.
She has also been referred to the eye and laser clinic and will then see a plastic surgeon.
Theresa's husband told AlgoaFM News that she is still in a lot of pain but is looking forward to making a speedy recovery.
