Mossel Bay police have arrested a 38-year-old man after 10 000 Mandrax tablets were found in his belongings.
The drugs have a street value of half a million rand.
The suspect was searched in Mossel Bay on Tuesday after police received a tip-off.
He was travelling on a bus from Gauteng to Mossel Bay.
Police said when the bus stopped, members from the Da Gamaskop police station and the Langeberg K9 unit searched the suspect.
He was arrested on the spot and is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
