Police in Elliotdale in the Eastern Cape are searching for a suspect who stabbed a woman and her son to death this Easter weekend.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said the incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning in Cwebe Village near the town.
He said police established that the 21-year-old man had heard his mother crying and had rushed to her room where he found a man stabbing her.
Manatha said the woman’s son got involved in a fight with the suspect and was also fatally wounded.
He said the motive for the murders is not yet known and the names of the deceased have not yet been released.
