EC men vow to stop gender violence

The Eastern Cape chapter of the South African Men's sector has vowed on behalf of all men to put a stop gender based violence.

A few hundred members joined the Eastern Cape AIDS Council in march in East London today under the banner "Men Can Be Responsible".

The chairperson of the Eastern Cape chapter of the SA Men's Sector, Lulamile Ntshingwa, has called on all men to put a stop to rape and violence against women and children.

"Men in the Eastern Cape have resolved to take the issue of gender violence very seriously. So, on this International Men's Day we converge here to make a statement, a statement that says men are going to stop violence against women and children, men are going to stop rape," he said.
