Two men from the Eastern Cape will make their first appearance in the George Magistrates' Court on Monday after dagga worth R700 000 were found in their possession.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the suspects, aged 36 and 42, gained access to the province by using secondary routes.
Police followed up on a tip-off and waited for the two men, who were driving in a Toyota Avanza and a Ford, at strategic points in George on Thursday.
Pojie says the dagga was confiscated after a high-speed chase through the streets of Conville.
The driver of the Avanza lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence.
The Ford was forced to stop and both men were arrested on the scene.
