Three men are due to appear in court in Centane in the Eastern Cape on Monday on a weapon’s charge.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said the men, aged between 23 and 58, were arrested over the weekend for allegedly being in possession of a home-made firearm.
He said police were acting on a tip-off when they made the arrest at the King Hintsa TVET College in Centane.
Meanwhile, Manatha said that Dutywa police were appealing to the local community to identify a man who was found murdered.
“The deceased was found dead on Saturday 13 May 2017 at about 20:00 around Dutywa town. The deceased had an upper body wound,” Manatha said.
No arrests have been made and anyone who may be able to identify the victim should please contact Dutywa Police.
A case of murder is under investigation.
