A security guard who allegedly killed his wife inside the Madeira police station in Mthatha made his first appearance in the local Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old Yandisa Daniso shot his 28-year-old wife Nwabisa Dwaza on Monday while she was busy opening up a case of domestic violence against him.
Daniso attempted to flee the scene after the murder but was immediately apprehended by SAPS.
He is being charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, and unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place.
The Regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Mthatha Luxolo Tyali says during Wednesday's appearance the
State asked for the matter to be postponed for them to profile the accused.
Tyali says Daniso is expected to apply for bail which will be opposed by the State.
The matter was postponed to the 18th of September 2020.
