EC man sentenced to life in prison for murder, 10 years for attempted rape

A man from Mooiplaas in the Eastern Cape has been sentenced to life in prison for murder and 10 years for attempted rape.

Police spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku says 27-year old Malibongwe Duba was sentenced in the Makhanda High Court on Friday.

He attempted to rape a 67-year-old woman known to him and then stabbed her in April 2018 at Mooiplaas.

Mzuku says the incident happened while the woman was on her way home.
