A man was killed and three people were injured in a head-on collision on the R408 near Dutywa in the Eastern Cape late on Friday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says an unknown man passed away at the scene, while the injured were rushed to Butterworth hospital.
He says the cause of the accident is not known, and Dutywa police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
Meanwhile, Butterworth police are investigating cases of culpable homicide and failing to stop after an accident, after an unknown man was hit by a motor vehicle on the N2 near Zazulwana Village.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
Captain Manatha says the deceased was found on the road just after 1 am on Saturday.
