EC man sentenced to 25-years for strangling stepmother

A regional court in Mdantsane, East London, has sentenced a 34-year old man to 25-years imprisonment for a murder committed in NU15 in July last year.

Captain Nkosikho Mzuku says 34-year-old Lwandiso Sibene was found guilty by the court of strangling his stepmother and stabbing her to death after a lengthy argument in their home.

Mdantsane Cluster Commander, Major General Henry Vos, welcomed the sentence and said he hoped it would serve as a strong deterrent to those who are still disrespecting women and children.
